The Plant Protection Research Institute in Egypt is organizing the 7th webinar of the Researchers Meeting in Acarology Group on Facebook, through the Zoom technology, on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Dr. Ziad Barbar, Assistant Professor, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Al-Baath University, Syria, will give a lecture entitled (Phytoseiidae: morphology and general classification). The family Phytoseiidae is considered one of the most important families that follow the order Mesostigmata (sub-class Acari) which contains about 111 families. The family Phytoseiidae is one of the most studied groups of this order due to the economic importance of several species used as biological control agent of phytophagous mites and other small arthropods. The aim of this lecture is to give a brief introduction about the main morphological characteristics of the order Mesostigmata and a detailed data on the principles used in the identification of the members of the family Phytoseiidae.
The supervisor of the organization is Prof. Dr. Hany Elkawas, Chief Researcher, Plant Protection Research Institute and founder of the group Researchers Meeting in Acarology on Facebook – Egypt.
